Oakland Athletics
For many in Oakland, when you'd ask who their favorite player to watch growing up was, if they were of a certain age, the answer was always Rickey Henderson. It was almost more helpful to ask who their favorite player was after Rickey. Born in 1958 in Chicago, Rickey made his way to Oakland Tech High School, where he ended up being selected by the A's in the fourth round of the 1976 MLB Draft. If you follow baseball at all, you're probably aware that Henderson is a Hall of Famer, and that he holds the all-time steals record, swiping a total of 1,406 bases in his career.

Free agency is regularly dominated by teams like the New York Mets, Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees. The Boston Red Sox and Texas Rangers also can be key players, and teams like the San Diego Padres and Seattle Mariners would not be surprises if they get involved in bidding for key players.

Growing up a Minnesota Twins fan I couldn't get enough baseball whether it was catching a game on the radio, TV, or in person at the Metrodome during my time in high school, I couldn't get enough baseball in my life. While I might not be as big of a fan as I had been, I still follow the game and a sentence in a recent ESPN article caught my attention. The article referenced a Minnesota-based company playing a small part in MLB's move to Las Vegas. The article in question discussed how the A's are closer to calling Las Vegas home, as the team wrapped up playing in the Oakland Coliseum this past season.
